Life's Just a Bowl of Chairys

The verdict is in! We tabulated your votes, discussed the pros and cons of the Herman Miller chairs, made our decision. And went to get them.

AND CAME BACK WITH THESE INSTEAD.

I took my mom with me to go pick up the chairs and we ended up walking around the space. (A secret location for now, sorry Ed!) The chairs I loved before kept calling me and calling me. These. I finally talked it through and my mom and Ed wheeled and dealed while I sat in my dream chair and they came up with a number. I TOOK IT. And hoped my husband would be ok with it. . . hehe.

Aren't the amazing?? They are made for the outdoors, but I don't mind. I love them inside. They don't take up too much space in your eye and still get to be white. And there is no problem with giving them a fresh paint job! They are perfect for our vibe.

They are outdoor chairs from the 60s by the designer Russell Woodard. They have amazing end chairs which we will probably get as well. But my favorite thing about these is we can get more down the road and have them inside and outside wherever the party is!

Our 6 month search is officially over. I think we did it.

 Dinner party time!!
Come on over!

The great chair search

We have been looking for kitchen chairs for 6 months. At least. Something cool, comfortable, fits in with the room, not too adultish (I guess formal is the word actual ADULTS use)  . . . not too big, not too little,  we just want something just right. . . . We want the kind of chairs you don't notice you are still sitting around the dinner table three hours after dinner ends.

this is the closest we have come to IT. Its an authentic vintage Herman Miller. The thing is we would have to get them in varying shades of creme and yellow and white.

To which I say. . . maybeeeee. . . and I know many will cringe and disown me when I say this. . . maybeeeee we paint them.

You see, a chair is only as wonderful as it is for YOU right THEN. And we need wonderful chairs.

Thoughts??? Email me, I want some opinions here, should we keep looking? Should we keep as is? Should we paint them if we darn well please?!?

This is my first interactive blog. Email me! Interact with me!

Moving on. Making plans.

Half of the excitement of finishing up the kitchen is having a beautiful kitchen. The other half of the excitement revolves around getting to start the next project. And though its exhausting thinking about painting and cutting and all, its exciting to see and feel definite progress in our home. And we can't wait to get the family room going. We have such grand plans for this entire house, so we just have to keep cranking through it.

No rest for the weary!

As Brad and I flew home from who knows where last week we sat in the dark plane and talked about our newest project. Brad drew this on the tray table as we talked it out.

Let the games begin.

A sneak peak at  the living room.  . . .maybe.
